It is a neck-to-neck battle for Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. As Donald reaches 270 votes, Trump, in his victory speech at West Palm Beach, Florida, where he addressed a large crowd, thanked his whole team and his wife Melania Trump. He said, “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president… I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe, and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve.”
As Trump has already addressed the crowd, Harris will not address the crowd today, but tomorrow. This came after Trump was declared the winner in two out of seven key battleground states earlier today.
The timing of the results depends on the closeness of the race. In the four swing states—Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—absentee ballot counting can take several days to complete. However, if either Trump or Harris secures a clear victory in the other battleground states, that could be enough to declare a winner.
In a post on X Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi extended his wishes to Trump on his victory. He wrote, “Heartiest congratulations, my friend @realDonaldTrump, on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability, and prosperity.”
