New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is all set to bring books for four more classes for the 2025-26 session. Based on the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), new books for classes 3 and 6 have come first in 2024-25, and books for four classes will come next year. NCERT has developed 79 primers in the prescribed languages of various states and union territories. With these short books, one can start learning any language. These primers are in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 and promote education in the mother tongue.
Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani, NCERT Director, says 79 primers have already been prepared in different languages, and a total of 121 are to be prepared for the new session. These primers will be initial to learn any language. These primers are being prepared under the new education policy.
Soon the rest of the 42 primers will also be ready, on which the work is going at a fast pace. He said that NCERT has made preparations to bring new books for four classes in 2025тАУ26, i.e., next year. Prof. Saklani says that new books for classes 4, 5, 7, and 8 will come, and recently NCERT has signed an agreement with Amazon so that people can order books even while sitting at home.
NCERT primers are teaching-learning materials developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in various Indian languages. The primers aim to help early-stage learners develop language proficiency, creativity, and critical thinking skills. They also help children learn to recognize, pronounce, and comprehend the letters of the alphabet and symbols of a language.
Prof. Saklani also reassured us that next year there would not be any shortage of books like this year. NCERT will publish more books to avoid such problems. Along with this, new experiments are being done to make sure that people can get books easily. NCERTтАЩs original books will now be available on e-commerce platforms. An important agreement has been made between NCERT and Amazon Seller Services Private Limited regarding this.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had made a big announcement a few days ago saying that in the coming year, NCERT will publish a total of 15 crore books for all classes, which will be three times more than before. Currently, about 5 crore books are published every year.
