Mumbai: In a big breakthrough, the Mumbai Police has arrested a 20-year-old man from Noida named Mohammad Tayyab alias Gurfan Khan for the threatening calls to Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique, the son of late NCP leader Baba Siddique.
The Bandra East employee of head of public relations office Zeeshan Siddique lodged a complaint after which the Sector 39 area of Noida arrested him on Tuesday for a threatening call he received on Friday demanding ransom and made some explicit threats against both him and Salman Khan.
An investigation has been initiated by the authorities with the case registered following a complaint at the Nirmal Nagar police station in Mumbai. According to police sources, Delhi resident Tayyab has been arrested, and a transit remand obtained to bring him to Mumbai for further interrogation.
This is the second incident that has occurred after a series of threats made against Salman Khan, more so after the alleged murder of Baba Siddique by Lawrence Bishnoi gang members. It was reported recently that a ransom demand for Rs. 5 crore from Khan was made to the Mumbai traffic police control room through a WhatsApp message allegedly sent by a member of the gang. The message warned of dire consequences if the intention was not complied with-similar to those faced by Siddique.
After this threatening message, the sender again claimed that the text message was sent by mistake and issued an apology, and subsequently, the police traced this person to Jharkhand. It resulted in the arrest of a vegetable seller named Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin from Jamshedpur.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has repeatedly threatened Salman Khan, and hence, the authorities had to enhance his security detail while he continues to do professional obligations. The situation reveals how serious the threats of the public figures are in India.
As the investigation unfolds, the Mumbai Police ensure all necessary procedures to keep the people involved safe, as well as share the larger implications of the same organized crimes occurring in the region.
