Karan Johar’s new title, ‘Uncle’
Jamshedpur, July 26, 2024:
In a recent video, TikToker Zane Thadani humorously grappled with what to call filmmaker Karan Johar after meeting him in London. Ultimately, Zane addressed Johar as ‘uncle,’ which surprisingly did not seem to upset the filmmaker. Johar later shared the video on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Was happy meeting you, Zane.” Zane’s post was titled “I met Karan Johar in London,” and he cheekily added, “Thanks for the collab, uncle…” Notably, Zane has 15.5K TikTok followers and 5K Instagram followers, and his Instagram account is followed by star kids Suhana Khan and Navya Nanda.
Hi Uncle…
In the video, Zane spotted Karan Johar, who was dressed in blue, among a group of women and children. As Zane approached, he expressed his excitement about meeting Johar and debated what to call him—KJo, Karan, Mr. Johar, or Mr. Karan. After getting Johar to appear in the video, Zane tapped his shoulder and playfully said, “Hi, uncle!” Johar looked taken aback and responded, “Uncle? Did you just call me uncle?” before walking away.
The video elicited varied reactions from viewers. Some fans noted that Johar dislikes being called ‘KJo,’ while others humorously suggested alternative titles like ‘guru maa’ (teacher) or imagined Johar’s response would be more like “Hi beta” (son).
Karan Johar’s latest film as a producer, Bad Newz, stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia, with cameos from Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra, Apoorva Mehta, and Johar, the film continues to generate buzz.
