Jamshedpur: A meeting was held on Saturday in the Collector Auditorium (DC Office) by the chairman National safai Karamchari commission Anjana Pawar regarding the problems and solutions of sanitation workers. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal, Senior Superintend of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal, Deputy Development Comissioner (DDC) Manish Kumar along with others participated in the meeting to review the facilities given to sanitiations workers working in municipal bodies and other institutions and the work being done for their security. During the review, Vice President Mrs. Panwar said that The National Safai Karamchari Commission goes to every district of the state and organizes meeting on how the Social, Economic and Educational rehabilitations of Sanitization workers should be done.
She further added the dream of Swachh Bharat would not be completed without the sanitization workers they deserve every respect. They worked during the whole Covid Pandemic leaving their families behind.
She further added how these workers work in the worst conditions, and they deserve good health checkups every 6 months, so they do not fall ill. It was also suggested to give them ID cards for the identification of the safai karamcharies so they can enter all the necessary information along with blood group, phone number, and ESIC number on it.
They also stressed regular monthly salary and regular payment in the first week. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, MGM Superintend Dr. Ravindra kumar along with other departments related to safai karamcharies were present in the meeting.
