Mumbai: The biggest award show of the year, International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) was held on September 28, in Abu Dhabi this year. Top A listers attended the event and many Bollywood starts graced the stage with their fabulous performances. While, Shahrukh khan won the best actor award for his movie ‘Jawan’, Rani Mukherjee bagged the best actress award for ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway’.
What touched the fans heart most was King Khan’s acceptance speech in which he talked about their difficult time during his son, Aryan Khan’s arrest. During his acceptance speech, he acknowledged the impressive performances of his fellow nominees, expressing that they were all deserving of recognition but suggested that his prolonged absence from the screen contributed to the excitement around his win.
He also mentioned that while shooting “Jawan,” his family was experiencing a challenging time, and he humorously expressed his gratitude to his wife, Gauri Khan, for her support. He remarked that someone had pointed out the importance of investing money into a film, leading him to thank Gauri for her contributions. He joked that she might be one of the few wives who spends more on her husband than he does on her, emphasizing the difficulties they faced during the film’s production.
Aryan Khan’s Arrest in 2021
Shahrukh and Gauri’s elder son Aryan Khan was arrested in October 2021, in relation to the alleged drug case on the Mumbai Cruise. He had to spent over 25 days on remand. After multiple court appearances Aryan was released on bond and all the charges was cleared by the the Narcotics Control Bureau eight months later.
