Mumbai: Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) will see a leadership transition as Tony Vinciquerra steps down as CEO on January 2, 2025. Ravi Ahuja, currently president and COO, will take over the role. Vinciquerra will continue as non-executive chairman until the end of 2025.The succession plan follows two years of preparation. Yoshida, CEO of Sony Group Corp., commended Vinciquerra’s strategic leadership that revitalized SPE. Ahuja expressed excitement about leading the iconic studio, crediting Vinciquerra for his mentorship. Vinciquerra emphasized that SPE is positioned for continued growth without major strategic changes.
Kenichiro Yoshida, chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corp., praised Vinciquerra’s contributions, noting the studio’s significant turnaround and its critical role in maximizing intellectual property value. Ahuja joined SPE in 2021 and has been instrumental in navigating the challenges of the evolving media landscape.
